Greetings from Mrs. Swank!

What fun we are having in kindergarten! It is so rewarding to be a part of the children's learning and to see them accomplish new things every day. As we approach November,we contuinue to focus on reading and writing strategies, along with developing mathematical concepts such as patterning, counting, skip counting by 2's, 5's and 10's,and recognizing and writing numerals. We are also enjoying fun learning experiences in science and social studies. In October we have learned interesting facts about Bats and Spiders. We are looking forward to Science camp night as well! (See the dates below.) Thank you for all of your support and help. It was great to meet with all of you at Parent-Teacher conferences. The children are learning so much. Please continue reading the"bookbag" book with your child 3x every week. This homework is very important and will have a positive impact on your child's confidence and success as a beginning reader.

Cowboy Day: Thursday, January 29 from 9:20-11:30 for both classes.

Kindergarten Program: Thursday, April 30 at 7:00  p.m.

Field Day and Author's Celebration: Thursday, May 7

• Valentine's Party: Thursday, February 12 (morning class- 11:00-11:55)  (afternoon class- 2:45-3:40)

Communication:

Kindergarteners will bring home a newletter periodically. We hope to have our newsletters distributed via e-mail soon. Please check this webpage often as we will add information and dates as they become available. When you need to communicate with me, please contact me either with a phone call or preferably with an e-mail.
