Social Studies is a integrated study that prepares students to criticallyanalyze and make decisions regarding themselves and their communities,nation, and rapidly changing world. The Littleton Public Schools social studies curriculum aligns with state and national standards that include the study of history, geography, economics,and civics. This comprehensive curriculum fosters inquiry and experiencesthat provide:
• an understanding of the United States and the world through thestudy of history, geography, economics, cultural and intellectualtraditions, and political and social institutions;
• historical perspectives on the human experience resulting inindividual, community and global identities;
• the skills necessary to acquire, analyze, evaluate and communicatecurrent and historical information;
