Every Monday we will be sending home reading material in a plastic bag that is on your child’s reading level. We would like for him/her to read the specified stories three times during the week and return the books on the following Monday. After the first reading, the child should retell the story to an adult. Please encourage him/her to recall as many details as possible. Please do not read ahead in the bookthat has multiple stories. Your child should write one or more sentences about the story. Please have him/her “sound out” the words for the sentence. Copying from the book is not as beneficial. Paper will be provided for the writing activity. Please return the sentences, along with the books to us every Monday in the plastic bag provided. The books can only be returned on Monday. We will be organizing all homework assignments on Monday only.
